It all started with a dream . . .

Well, no, it actually started with boredom.

In 2020, our founding members Marc and Stuart were tired of being at home, and made the (foolish) plan to ride to all the breweries in Calgary.

Somehow (inexplicably) the ride became popular. In 2023, we had six riders. This year, we're anticipating about 15. We're now Calgary's #1 bike and beer ride.

Well, actually, we're the only one we know of. So that could be a lie. But it sure sounds good.

FAQs

Are you morons?

I mean, yeah, we might be morons. But would morons combine the two best things in this world: bikes and beer? WE THINK NOT! Plus we have two safety rules:

1. You don't ride like me
2. You're responsible for your own safety

Feel reassured?!

What does this ride entail?

Briefly: matching shirts, bad selfies at every brewery in Calgary, 115 km on a bike in one day, occasional beers, blood, sweat, tears (so many tears).

Listen, we tried to up our game in 2023 and bought a selfie stick but it really didn't help the selfie game. So . . . "bad selfies" is still unfortunately accurate.

Do you drink at every stop?

That would be stupid. And impossible. So no - but we do make a few occasional stops for sustenance. And it's just prudent to have the occasional beer for hydration, Safety first, always. See safety rules, above.

Why don't you get a normal hobby?

That's not a bad idea. But for now, we'll do this. Plus, as every cyclist knows, once you get into biking, it's all there is. hashtagbikesarelife

Doing good by being dumb

We/re raising money for Two Wheel View, a youth-focused charity that uses the bicycle as a vehicle for change. Through their earn-a-bike program and their employment skills program, Two Wheel View helps young Calgarians develop social and emotional skills, and build self-esteem.
